Player versus Player Part 1: Alliances

Player versus Player Part 1: Alliances

The new Blight of Frost Keep update introduced the new Guild Alliances feature to Riders of Icarus. The Guild Alliances is a precursor to the introduction of more expansive PvP icarus gold features such as free-for-all and Manastone Battle that will be introduced into Riders of Icarus in the next few weeks. The numerous guilds in Riders of Icarus will need to form riders of icarus gold Alliances and be prepared to battle other Alliances in PvP to determine the top Alliances on the server!
Forging Alliances
In order to create an Alliance, your guild must be level 3 or greater and pay 10 gold to the Alliance Master NPC. The Guild Master creating the Alliance can invite up to two other guilds (which also must be level 3 or greater) to the Alliance. A guild can only be in one Alliance at a time, and the Guild Master of each guild must be online at the time of invite. The invited Guild Masters can then accept the invite or decline it. Once in an Alliance, you will see a mark that identifies other players who are not in your guild but who are part of your Alliance. You will also have access to chat within your Alliance so you can coordinate and strategize in and out of battle.

Now, for the PvP! Though PvP (other than duels) is not currently available in Riders of Icarus, the following is what you can generally expect from Alliance War when the feature becomes available. Of course, as the feature is currently in development, the specifics of Alliance War are subject to change.
You can be at war with one Alliance at a time. The Alliance Leader can declare war by entering the name of the enemy Alliance and paying 10 gold. The enemy Alliance can then decide to decline or accept the declaration of war. There is no gold refund if the opponent declines the declaration of war or if you cancel the declaration. Once accepted, war begins and it is announced throughout the land!
Mass Player vs Player Combat
As part of the new Alliance PvP feature, there will be a dedicated area for Alliances to engage in PvP combat.  This area is known as the Exarahn Badlands.  When you enter the Exarahn Badlands, you’ll see everyone in your party, guild, and Alliance as friendly. All others are the enemy. You must do your best in order to hunt and kill players in the opposing Alliance. The first side that accumulates 200 kills of players in the opposing Alliance wins and their victory shall be declared to all players on the server!
Alliances earn points from each player kill, and you’ll see a call out for each kill you rack up. The number of points awarded scales up as the number of players in the war increases. If you earn 500,000 points, your Alliance will become an Elite Alliance! That status lasts for 14 days and your Alliance members will earn amazing rewards like increases in Familiar EXP, increases in tempering success, and access to a Guild Shop. If you reach 500,000 points again, your status as an Elite Alliance will be extended an additional 14 days. Though there are great rewards to be earned in war, there is also more danger. Elite Alliances cannot decline war declarations, so you must always be prepared to defend your fame and honor.
Prepare for All-Out War
This is a just a small taste of what’s to come for the expanded PvP features that will be introduced very soon in Riders of Icarus. As always, we welcome your feedback and ideas to make this the best possible feature for our players. Please share your thoughts in the forums, and make sure to check back here on the website for further updates on the various PvP experiences that Riders of Icarus will provide in that future content update.
Now, go out and create an Alliance today so you are ready when war breaks out!

Introducing Rank 8 – Archer

Greetings, Tree of Savior Gold dev team here. As you can guess, we’re buy4tos.com continuing our introduction of the new Rank 8 classes, and today we’re covering the Archer tos gold.

Falconer (Circle 3)

The master of hawk companions is finally developing into Circle 3; here’s what we have in store for this class.

The ‘Circling’ skill is getting an expanding attribute that has a 5% chance of repeated attack within its area. For Archers having trouble dealing with multiple enemies, this could be a life-saver.

The new skill ‘Aiming’ widens the area of the hawk’s strike, allowing you to attack from further away. ‘Aiming’ can be used in conjunction with ‘Circling’ and other skills, making it useful for short-range attack classes and party play.

‘Preemptive Strike’ will allow hawks to attack enemies without the direct instruction of a Falconer. The hawk will automatically use the skills ‘Hovering’ and ‘Sonic Strike’, with ‘Preemptive Strike’ being influenced by the skill level of its corresponding Falconer character. Also, any skills used automatically by the hawk will not count towards SP drain nor cooldown times.

Schwarzer Reiter (Circle 3)

This high-mobility, mount-focused class is seeing its final evolution in Circle 3.

We expect to add an expansion attribute to shoot-and-retreat skill ‘Caracole’ that will allow for a wider range of damage. And for reiters with stamina to spare, we will be adding an attribute to reduce the recoil of ‘Caracole’ and allow for faster consecutive attacks.

‘Limacon’ is getting a new ‘Misery’ attribute that will allow it to attack two enemies at once. We also expect to change ‘Limacon’ to a buff-type skill in a future patch; after activating it, you’ll have to press C during its duration to use it.

C3 skill ‘Forward Shot’ will have your character advance forward while shooting two long-range weapons at once. Unlike ‘Retreat Shot’, with this skill your character will keep shooting even if you stop moving, making it an excellent ‘breakthrough’ technique.

Musketeer (Circle 2)

Long-range specialists, the Musketeers are becoming even more worthy of their names in Circle 2.

We developed a ‘Misery’ attribute for ‘Snipe’ that will allow it to target two enemies at once.

The new ‘Bird Fall’ skill was created to deal serious damage to flying-type monsters. In PvP combat, this skill disables flying statuses and is notably strong against flight-type classes.

We’re also adding a quick fire attribute to ‘Penetration Shot’ that will allow you to use it as your main attack even in crowded battles.

Cannoneer (Circle 2)

The role of Circle 2 Cannoneers in teamwork is what makes it stand out.

‘Siege Burst’ will have an attribute added which allows players to destroy enemy magic circles.

The ‘Cannon Barrage’ skill will fire several shots directly at enemies in front of you.

The ‘Bazooka’ skill will allow you to deal damage to several enemies through AoE damage at a range that is comparable to ‘Kneeling Shot’. However, you will need to be careful when using this skill as you will not be able to move while using it and will not be able to target nearby enemies.

Hakkapalle (Circle 1)

The Hakkapalle is a cavalry class that first appears at Rank 8.

The most distinct feature of the Hakkapalle is that you will be able to use a one-hand sword as your sub weapon, allowing melee attacks despite being an archer. You will also be able to ride companions just like the Schwarzer Reiter class.

The difference is that you will be able to make a dash if you double-press the movement keys while mounted. However, it is slower than the ‘Trot’ skill of Cataphracts, just about the speed increase of a Swordsman dashing, and uses the companion’s stamina as well.

Archer classes all have the ability to hit enemies with up to 5 arrows and decrease the defense of enemies by 10% per arrow. The ‘Skarphuggning’ skill, which is a melee slash attack, will be able to hit the enemy more according to how many arrows are stuck in the enemy so you will be able to deal a lot of damage by melee attacking enemies after attacking them with ranged weapons.

There are many ranged and melee combinations, including being able lower the enemy’s critical resistance or sticking up to 7 arrows into them, so players that enjoy their combinations are sure to enjoy this class.

Mergen (Circle 1)

The Mergen class first appears at Rank 8 and is a strong class against many enemies at once.

Any players that have been using bows should take a close look at the Mergen class. The Mergen class has additional damage bonuses when using Two-hand Bows. The ‘Spread Shot’ skill will fire 5 arrows at once. Players will be able to fire on the move just like normal attacks with bows.

The ‘Parthian Shaft’ skill is useful when attacking fast moving enemies as it deals penetration damage without having a negative effect on the user’s movement speed.

The ‘Triple Arrow’ skill which developers believe will become one of the class’s most loved skills.

The ‘Homing Arrow’ skill will attack enemies in the surrounding area without having to target them. This should prove useful as a first attack type skill. For instance, if there is only one enemy in the area, any arrows fired with this skill will all focus on it. This makes the skill useful for both focused fire and AoE attacks.

My impressions:

Falconer C3 seems pretty synergic with qs. But I'm having a hard time trying to figure their role in a party. Time will tell.[/*]

Sreiter: I do believe that it will maintain the crown of top phy dpser. Forward shot itself seems worth the c3[/*]

Musketeer... linkers will still be their best friends for pve, haha[/*]

Cannoneer... that's the pick for my main. Manly tears. Bazooka don't entice me at first, tho.[/*]

Hakkapalle. Well, I fail to foresee a build that turns you into a good pseudo melee on r8 - around base lvl 275[/*]

Mergen: natural progression for fletchers, I'm sure of it.[/*]
Falconer 3: Initially, I'm VERY happy with this new circle. Preemptive Strike activating attacks without commands will be super useful for Hunters. One less thing to manage. Very excited for this one.

S.Reiter 3: Due to my complete lack of familiarity with this class, its synergy, and basically anything about it, I have no opinion on it's new circle.

Musketeer 2: Bird fall giving archer even more flying type punish? Yes please. With this class, I feel the same about it as I do about S. Reiter, for the same reason. But I know some people are going to be VERY happy.

Cannoneer 2: Explosive kneeling shot? OH LAWDY. More AoE + more damage = more death. See, math CAN be fun.

Hakkapelle: Getting info on only a limited few skills makes this a tough call. It would probably synergize nicely with S. Reiter, but a lot of the classes that could benefit from a melee skill don't have many skills that are usable while mounted. I see the function being punishing monsters or characters that manage to close the distance and put pressure on the archer, but in terms of classes that would have a major need for that, there are really only a few. Most of the ones that come to mind have some of their best skills cancelled by being mounted, so I don't know... we'll see.

Mergen: The thing I love about online games is that even when you have dedicated players watching all the forums and finding all the class leaks, there are still things that can come from COMPLETELY out of left field. Appraiser, Pied Piper? NOPE. MEET MERGEN. This class is one of the best kinds of surprises. Another attribute to enhance 2H Bows and more AoE with kickass damage makes archer an even greater force to be reckoned with. I can see it now... a glorious Ranger3>Fletcher3> Mergen build... and the angels wept.

Overall, super hyped for these classes. :D
